Introduction:
TheGeneralAgreementonTradeinServices(GATS)isamultilateralagreementaimedatliberalizingandpromotingglobaltradeinservices.However,likeanyinternationalagreement,theGATShasitschallengesandcontroversies.Onesuchissueistheregulationofsubsidies,whichcandistortcompetitionandhinderthepotentialbenefitsoftradeliberalization.
ThisresearchpaperaimstoanalyzeandevaluatetheimpactofsubsidiesundertheGATSagreement.Itwillexplorethedifferenttypesofsubsidies,theirimplicationsfortradeinservices,andthechallengesfacedbycountriesinregulatingsubsidieseffectively.Furthermore,thepaperwilldiscusspotentialsolutionsandpolicyrecommendationstoaddressthesubsidyproblemandensureafairandlevelplayingfieldintheglobaltradeinservices.
