Abstract:
ThecriticalvolumefractionofvoidsinNVAshipsteelisanimportantparameterforpredictingthefracturebehaviorofsteelunderstress.Basedonamicro-damagemodel,thispaperdiscussesthefactorsaffectingthecriticalvolumefractionofvoidsinNVAshipsteel.Throughtheoreticalanalysisandempiricalresearch,thecriticalvolumefractionofvoidsinNVAshipsteelwascalculatedandpredicted.
Introduction:
Thestrengthandtoughnessofshipsteelareimportantfactorsthataffectthesafetyofships.Inordertoensurethesafetyofships,itisnecessarytoaccuratelypredictthefracturebehaviorofshipsteelunderstress.ThecriticalvolumefractionofvoidsinNVAshipsteelisanimportantparameterthataffectsthefracturebehaviorofsteel.Thecriticalvolumefractionofvoidsreferstothevolumefractionofvoidsthatcancausecrackpropagationanddamageinsteel.Thecriticalvolumefractionofvoidsisrelatedtothemicrostructureofsteel,theloadingrate,andotherfactors.Inthispaper,thecriticalvolumefractionofvoidsinNVAshipsteelisstudiedbasedonamicro-damagemodel.
Micro-damageModel:
Themicro-damagemodelisawidelyusedmodeltocharacterizethefractureanddamagebehaviorofmaterials.Themicro-damagemodelconsiderstheinteractionbetweenmicroscopicdefects,thecrackinitiationandpropagationprocess,andtheoveralldeformationofthematerial.Accordingtothemicro-damagemodel,thedamageofthematerialcanbedividedintothreestages:nucleation,growth,andcoalescence.Inthenucleationstage,themicro-defectsinthematerialbegintogenerateandgrow.Inthegrowthstage,thedefectscontinuetogrowandcoalescetoformcracks.Inthecoalescencestage,thecrackscontinuetogrowandconnecttoformafracturesurface.
CriticalVolumeFractionofVoids:
ThecriticalvolumefractionofvoidsinNVAshipsteelcanbecalculatedbasedonthemicro-damagemodel.Thecriticalvolumefractionofvoidsisrelatedtothestressstateofthematerial,theloadingrate,andthemicrostructureofthematerial.Thecriticalvolumefractionofvoidscanbecalculatedbythefollowingequation:
