Abstract
Precisionpovertyalleviationhasbecomeapopularapproachforboostingagriculturalindustrydevelopmentinpoverty-strickenareasacrosstheworld,includingruralareasinChina.Thegovernmenthasimplementednumerousmeasurestoenhanceagricultureintheseareastoeradicatepoverty,andthisapproachhasbeenappliedtovariousagriculturalsectors.Thispaperexaminesprecisionpovertyalleviationinagricultureinruralpoverty-strickenareasofShaanxiProvince.Thispaperproposesvariousstrategiesthatcanbeadoptedbythegovernment,privateorganisationsandindividualstoassistinthisprocess.
Introduction
Duetohistoricalandgeographicalfactors,povertyremainsasignificantprobleminruralareasofChina.Povertyalleviationmeasuresundertakenbythegovernmentinthepastyearshavehelpedreducepovertytosomeextent.However,manyruralareasinunderdevelopedprovincessuchasShaanxiProvincestillexperiencesignificantpovertyrisks.Attainingfoodsecurityandsustainableagriculturaldevelopmentinthepoverty-strickenareashasbecomeanessentialagendaforChina'spovertyalleviationefforts.AgriculturalindustryprecisionpovertyalleviationhasbecomeanessentialstrategytoeradicatepovertyinruralareasofChina.Thepolicyofruralpovertyalleviationinagricultureinvolvesusingtargetedapproachestoincreaseproduction,diversifyincomesources,andimprovemarketaccessibilitytoincreaserevenueforfarmers.
AgricultureinShaanxiProvince
AgricultureisavitalindustryinShaanxiProvinceandisvitaltotheeconomyandsubsistenceofitspeople.Theprovincecoversanareaof205,800km²,makingagricultureanessentialfactorinboostingeconomicgrowth,generatingincome,andprovidingfoodtoitspopulation.ShaanxiProvincehasasignificantnumberoffoodcropsandcashcropsgrowninitsruralareas.Majorfoodcropsgrownincludewheat,rice,maize,beansandpotatoes,andcashcropssuchasmedicinalherbs,walnuts,andgrapevines.Despitetheseagriculturalactivities,povertyremainshighinpartsoftheprovince.
