Photonicsisarapidlyadvancingfieldthathasrevolutionizedvariousindustries,suchastelecommunications,opticalcomputing,andsensing.Overtheyears,therehasbeenanincreasinginterestindevelopingnovelmaterialsandstructuresthatcanmanipulatelightwithhighefficiencyandprecision.Inthisregard,low-dimensionalorganicstructureswithlayeredcomponentshaveemergedaspromisingcandidatesforadvancedphotonicsapplications.Thispaperexploresthedesign,fabrication,andpotentialapplicationsofthesestructures,highlightingtheiruniquepropertiesandpromisingfutureprospects.
1.Introduction
Photonicsisthefieldofscienceandtechnologythatinvolvesthemanipulationoflightforvariousapplications.Traditionalmaterialsusedinphotonics,suchasinorganicsemiconductors,sufferfromlimitationssuchashighcost,lackofflexibility,andcomplexfabricationprocesses.Low-dimensionalorganicstructures,ontheotherhand,offeradvantagessuchaslowcost,easyprocessability,andtunableopticalproperties,makingthemattractiveforphotonicsapplications.Thissectionprovidesanoverviewofthemotivationandsignificanceoflow-dimensionalorganicstructuresinphotonics.
