Abstract:
Withtheincreasingdemandforreliableandefficientwirelesscommunicationsystems,theaccurateestimationofthechannelstateinformation(CSI)andtherobustdetectionoftransmittedsignalshavebecomecriticaltasks.Thispaperproposesanoveliterativealgorithmbasedonfactorgraph,whichintegratesbothchannelestimationandsignaldetection.Theproposedalgorithmaimstoachieveimprovedperformanceintermsofbiterrorrate(BER)andspectralefficiencybyjointlyoptimizingchannelestimationandsignaldetectionwithinaniterativeframework.Extensivesimulationsareconductedtoevaluatetheperformanceoftheproposedalgorithm,demonstratingitssuperiorityoverexistingmethodsinvariousscenarios.
1.Introduction
Wirelesscommunicationsystemsrelyonaccuratechannelestimationandreliablesignaldetectiontoachievehighdatatransmissionrateswithminimalerrorrates.Traditionalmethodstypicallytreatchannelestimationandsignaldetectionasseparatetasks,whichmaynotfullyexploittheinterdependenciesbetweenthetwo.Thispaperintroducesanoveljointchannelestimationandsignaldetectionalgorithmbasedonfactorgraph.
2.FactorGraph-basedJointChannelEstimationandSignalDetection
Factorgraphsprovideagraphicalrepresentationforcomplexprobabilitydistributionsandenableefficientinference.Theproposedalgorithmutilizesfactorgraphstomodelthejointchannelestimationandsignaldetectionproblem.Nodesinthefactorgraphrepresentrandomvariables,andedgesrepresentconditionaldependenciesamongthem.
2.1ChannelEstimation
Thefactorgraphcapturesthedependenciesbetweenreceivedsignals,transmittedsymbols,andchannelcoefficients.Byincorporatingknownpilotsignalsandemployinggraphicalmessagepassingalgorithms,thealgorithmestimatesthechannelcoefficients.Theestimatedchannelisthenusedinthesubsequentsignaldetectionprocess.
2.2SignalDetection
Thefactorgraphalsoaccountsfortheinterdependenciesbetweenthereceivedsignals,estimatedchannelcoefficients,andtransmittedsymbols.Byemployingbeliefpropagationalgorithm,th
