Theworld,withmoreextensiveglobalization,tendstobedominatedbyahandfuloflanguagesandwitnessestheextinctionofseverallanguagesannually.Sometakethisofnosignificanceandasaneasingfactortotheinternationalcommunity.

Lifewillcertainlybeeasierwithfewerlanguages.Itwouldcauselessconflicts,andmisunderstandingwhenpeopletrytoconveymessageswithoutthelanguagebarriersintheirway.Especiallyunderthecircumstancesofgaugesusedindocumentsandnegotiationssmooththecommunicationandbringcooperation.

Accesstomoreknowledgeandinformationwillbegiventolargerpopulationiftheyspeakthemainstreamlanguages,sincemostofresearchersandreportscarriedoutsofarhavebeenwritteninsuchlanguages.Byadoptinglanguagesspokenbymajority,minorityethnicpeoplewillembracemorepromisinginrealizingtheirfullpotentialandmorecompetitiveinjobmarket.

However,itisnotencouragedforthosepeopletodiscardtheirnativetongues.Theirlanguages,asvehiclesoftheirculture,bearthetraditionandvaluesthatcannotbereplacedorreplicated.Bypreservingtheminoritylanguages,theculturaldiversitywillbeenhanced,thesenseofbelongingstrengthened,andhistoricalheritagesecured.Itmightnotproveeasierforthecommercialworld,yetdefinitelyworthyforhumanity.

Businesscommunitywouldbebetteroffifmostspeakthedominantlanguages,thoughmoreimportanceshouldbeattachedtotheendangeredlanguages.Governmentshouldofferbothdominantlanguagecoursestominorityethnicgroupssothattheycanbecomepartsofawiderworldwhilepreservingtheirculturalintegrity.
