●其实，部分城里孩子也面临类似的困难，也需要帮助。如果农村人上大学比他们更容易，则对他们不公平。
●但是大学资源有限，无法保证每个人都能够接受大学教育，所以必须利用有限的资源帮助那些最值得帮助的高中毕业生念大学，不管生源地是城市还是农村。即使农村学生可以更容易考上大学，也很难保证他们将来能够对社会做出相应的贡献；如果真是这样，就没有必要仅仅因为他们是农村人就帮助他们。
●其实，大学教育不是改变命运的唯一方式，也不是每个人都必须去念大学。很多国家，比如中国，并不需要那么多的大学生；相反，这些国家更应该发展中等教育，培养职业技术人才。
