ThedevelopmentofcriticalthinkingskillsisessentialforEnglishmajors.AsfutureEnglishlanguageprofessionals,studentsofEnglishareexpectedtobecapableofanalyzingandevaluatingdifferenttexts,bothintermsoftheircontentandtheircommunicativeeffectiveness.CriticalthinkingskillsareparticularlyimportantwhenitcomestolanguagelearningsincetheyenableEnglishmajorstodevelopamorenuancedunderstandingofthelanguagetheyarestudyingandbeabletouseitmoreeffectively.ThispaperexaminesthenatureofcriticalthinkingandexploresdifferentwaystodevelopcriticalthinkingskillsforEnglishmajors.
