Abstract:
Theself-conceptofstudentswithintheEnglishmajorhasbeenatopicofinterestineducationalresearch.Thisstudyaimstoexploreandunderstandtheself-conceptofEnglishmajorstudentsbyconductinganempiricalinvestigation.TheresearchmethodologyconsistsofaquestionnairesurveytargetingEnglishmajorstudents,andthedatacollectedwereanalyzedusingstatisticaltechniques.Thefindingsprovidevaluableinsightsintotheself-conceptofEnglishmajorstudentsanditsimplicationsfortheiracademicperformanceandpersonaldevelopment.
Introduction:
Self-conceptreferstothewayindividualsperceive,evaluate,anddefinethemselves.Itplaysacrucialroleinpersonaldevelopmentandoverallwell-being.AsEnglishmajorstudentsoftenfaceuniquechallengesintheiracademicstudies,itisimportanttounderstandhowtheirself-conceptimpactstheirlearningandgrowth.
Methodology:
1.QuestionnaireDesign:Aself-designedquestionnairewasdeveloped,includingquestionsrelatedtoself-perception,self-evaluation,self-identity,aspirations,andemotionstowardstheiracademicstudies.
2.Sampling:Aconvenientsamplingmethodwasusedtoselectasampleof200Englishmajorstudentsfromdifferentuniversities.
3.DataCollection:Thequestionnairewasdistributedandcollectedthroughbothonlineplatformsandin-personinteractions.
4.DataAnalysis:Thecollecteddatawereanalyzedusingstatisticaltechniquessuchasdescriptivestatistics,correlationanalysis,andregressionanalysis.
Results:
1.Self-Perception:MostEnglishmajorstudentsperceivethemselvesascompetentandknowledgeableinEnglishlanguageskillsandliterature.However,somestudentsexpressalackofconfidenceintheiroralcommunicationabilities.
2.Self-Evaluation:Englishmajorstudentstendtohavehighacademicself-efficacyandbelievetheycanachievesuccessintheirstudies.However,somemayalsoexperienceself-doubtandfearoffailure.
3.Self-Identity:EnglishmajorstudentsoftendevelopastrongsenseofidentityandbelongingwithintheirdepartmentanddemonstrateapassionfortheEnglishlanguageandliterature.
