Introduction:SecureIIoTsystemsrelyoneffectivewirelessconnectivitywithhighreliabilityandsecuritystandards.However,withtheincreaseinthenumberofdevicesandcomplexityofnetworks,thesesystemsfacevariousissuessuchasinterference,attenuation,anddowntime.Oneoftheeffectiveapproachestoaddresstheseissuesisusingsubstrate-basedIIoT.Thisapproachinvolvesattachingtinydevicestothesurfaceofobjectsandofferscost-effectiveandreliableconnectivity.However,thesubstrate-basedIIoTalsosuffersfromchallengessuchastheriskofinterferenceandsignalattenuationduetothepresenceofneighboringdevices.Inthisregard,MIMOtechnology,whichinvolvestheuseofmultipleantennas,canofferpromisingsolutions. Background:Thesubstrate-basedIIoTiscomposedofvariousdevicessuchassensors,actuators,andRFIDtags.Thesedevicesoftenrelyonwirelesscommunicationtotransmitdatatothecentralcontrolsystems.ThewirelesschannelsinIIoTsufferfrommultipathfading,interferencefromotherwirelessdevices,andnoise.Consequently,insuchsystems,achievinghighreliabilityanddataratesaresignificantchallenges.MultipleInputMultipleOutput(MIMO)technologyisapopularapproachtoovercomethesechallenges.MIMOusesmultipleantennasonboththetransmitterandreceiversidestocreatemultiplechannels.Thisresultsinspatialmultiplexing,whichleadstohigherdataratesandimprovedreliability.
