I.EvolutionofEnglishMajorTeaching: Englishmajoreducationhasexperiencedvariousstagesofdevelopment,fromthetraditionalgrammar-translationmethodtoamorecommunicativeandinteractiveapproach.Inrecentyears,thefocushasshiftedfromlanguageknowledgeacquisitiontothecultivationofcomprehensivelanguageskills,includinglistening,speaking,reading,andwriting.Thistransitionreflectsagreateremphasisonpracticalityandreal-lifeapplicationoftheEnglishlanguage. II.ChallengesFacedbyEnglishMajorTeaching: A.OutdatedCurriculumandPedagogicalApproaches: ManyEnglishmajorprogramsstilladheretooutdatedcurriculumstructuresandpedagogicalmethods,whichfailtomeetthechangingneedsofstudentsandthejobmarket.Theoveremphasisongrammarrulesandtranslationoftenneglectsthedevelopmentofstudents'practicallanguageskillsandcriticalthinkingabilities.
