Abstract:
Researchconsortiahavebecomeincreasinglyprevalentinacademia,providinganavenueforcollaborativeresearchandresource-sharingamonginstitutions.Thisstudyaimstoexaminetheformationofsuchconsortiathroughthelensofgametheory,focusingontheexistenceofequilibriawithinthesestructures.Byunderstandingthedynamicsandincentivesofcooperationinresearchconsortia,thisresearchcanprovidevaluableinsightsforpolicymakersandacademiatoenhancecollaborativeresearchefforts.
Introduction:
Inrecentyears,academicresearchhaswitnessedasignificantshifttowardscollaborationandtheformationofresearchconsortia.Theseconsortiaoffernumerousadvantages,includingaccesstogreaterresources,sharedexpertise,andtheabilitytotacklelarger,morecomplexresearchproblems.However,theformationofsuchcollaborationsisnotwithoutchallenges.Thispaperaimstoinvestigatethegameformationandequilibriumstructuresinresearchconsortiatoshedlightonthemotivationsandincentivesbehindcooperationamonginstitutions.
LiteratureReview:
Gametheoryprovidesapowerfulframeworkforanalyzingcooperativebehaviorsanddecision-makinginsituationswheremultipleactorsinteract.Assuch,ithasfoundwidespreadapplicationinstudyingeconomic,political,andsocialphenomena.Inthecontextofresearchconsortiaformation,gametheorycanbeemployedtounderstandthestrategicchoicesmadebyinstitutionsandtheresultingequilibriumoutcomes.
Previousstudieshaveexaminedvariousgametheoreticmodelstoanalyzetheformationofresearchconsortia.Thesemodelsprimarilyfocusonthedecision-makingprocessesofindividualinstitutionsinjoiningorformingconsortia,takingintoaccountfactorssuchascosts,benefits,reputation,andthepotentialforfree-riding.Gametheoryhasbeenappliedtostudydifferentscenarios,includingone-shotgames,repeatedinteractions,andthepossibilityofpunishmentfornon-cooperation.
Methodology:
Themethodologyemployedinthisresearchconsistsoftwomainsteps.Firstly,atheoreticalmodelwillbedevelopedtocapturethee
