Abstract:
Tunnelfiresposeasignificantrisktohumanlife,property,andtransportationsystems.Adequateknowledgeofthemagnitudeandspreadoftunnelfiresiscrucialforeffectivefiresafetymeasuresandemergencyresponseplanning.Thispaperpresentsasimulationstudyonthemagnitudeoftunnelfiresandtheirspread,aimingtoprovideinsightsintofirebehaviorandpotentialmitigationstrategies.Theanalysisincludesexaminingvariousfactorsaffectingfiredevelopmentandspread,suchasventilationsystems,firesuppressionmeasures,andtunnelgeometry.Theresultsobtainedfromthesimulationexperimentscanaidengineers,researchers,andpolicymakersindesigningfire-resistanttunnelstructuresandformulatingefficientemergencyresponsemechanisms.
