Abstract:
UnmannedAerialVehicles(UAVs)equippedwithhigh-resolutioncamerashavebecomeanessentialtoolindisasteremergencyresponse,providingtimelyandvaluableinformationfordecision-making.OnecriticaltaskinUAVimageryprocessingistherapidmosaicofmultipleimagesforgeneratingacomprehensiveanddetailedmapoftheaffectedarea.ThispaperproposesanovelapproachforefficientlyandaccuratelystitchingUAVimages,specificallydesignedfordisasteremergencysituations.
1.Introduction:
Disasters,suchasearthquakes,floods,andwildfires,causesignificantdamagetoinfrastructureandendangerlives.Theabilitytorapidlyassesstheaffectedareasandunderstandtheextentofthedamageiscrucialforeffectiveemergencyresponseandresourceallocation.UAVshaveemergedasapowerfulassetfordisastermanagementduetotheirabilitytocapturehigh-resolutionaerialimagesinatimelymanner.However,thelargenumberofindividualimagescapturedbymultipleUAVspresentsachallengeinefficientlystitchingthemtogethertocreateacoherentandcomprehensivemosaic.
2.RelatedWork:
PreviousstudieshaveaddressedUAVimagestitchingchallengesbyutilizingtraditionalpanoramastitchingalgorithms.However,thesealgorithmsarenotdesignedspecificallyfordisasteremergencyscenarios,wheretimeisoftheessence.Moreover,challengessuchasvaryingflightaltitudes,varyingperspectives,imagedistortion,andocclusionsduetodebrisandsmokefurthercomplicatetheimagestitchingprocess.Thispaperaimstoaddressthesechallengesandproposeanovelapproachforrapidandaccurateimagemosaicking.
3.ProposedMethod:

Theinitialstepinvolvesremovingduplicateimagesandidentifyingtheoverlappingregionsoftheremainingimages.Pre-processingalsoinvolvescorrectingimagedistortioncausedbyvaryingperspectivesandaltitudesusingtechniquessuchasimagerectification.Additionally,imageenhancementalgorithmscanbeemployedtoimproveimagequalityinlow-lightorsmoke-obscuredconditions.
