Introduction
Withtherapiddevelopmentofurbanization,theconceptofsustainabledevelopmentandecologicalharmonyhasgraduallyattractedpeople'sattention.Symbioticcityisthelatesturbandevelopmentconcept,whichemphasizestheharmoniouscoexistencebetweenhumanandnature,andpromotesthecoordinationandbalanceofurbandevelopment.ThisarticletakestheXiaoyaowanareaofDalianasanexampletoexplorehowtocarryouturbanplanninganddesignbasedontheconceptofsymbioticcity.
AnalysisofUrbanSituationandProblemsinXiaoyaowanArea
XiaoyaowanareaislocatedinthewesternpartofDaliancity,withanareaofabout20squarekilometers.Itwasonceamajorindustrialarea,mainlyengagedintheproductionofsteel,chemicals,andmachinery.However,duetotheoutdatedtechnologyandenvironmentalpollution,alargenumberofenterpriseshavebeenrelocatedorshutdowninrecentyears,resultinginthedeclineoftheregionaleconomyandemployment.
