Abstract
Thisresearchaimedtodesignamicro-courserelatedtothesecondlanguagevocabularyacquisitionofuniversityEnglishlearners.Thestudyexploredtheprinciplesandfeaturesofasuccessfulteachingandlearningprocess,triedtoidentifythepotentialchallengesabletoencounterthroughouttheprocess,andprovidedseveraleffectivestrategiesandsolutions.Theresearchrevealedthatthesuccessfulapplicationofamicro-coursedesignshouldbebasedonthecharacteristicsofvocabularyacquisition,whichallowslearnerstoacquirelanguageskillsgraduallyandmeaningfully.
Introduction
LearningEnglishasasecondlanguageattheuniversitylevelisessentialtoconfrontthecurrentglobalsituation.Oneofthesignificantaspectsoflanguagelearningisvocabularyacquisition.Vocabularyisthelanguage'sbackboneandessentialforeffectivecommunication.Therefore,teachingvocabularyinameaningfulwayhasgainedsignificantattentionfromlanguageresearchersandeducators.Micro-coursesrefertoatypeofteachingapproachthatinvolvescoursesthatfocusonaparticulartopicandusuallyprovidedthroughonlineplatforms.Itallowslearnerstochoosecoursesaccordingtotheirskilllevel,learningstyle,andinterests,providingflexibilityandcontrolovertheirlearning.Therefore,micro-coursesareaneffectivewaytopromoterelevantcontentandcanbethoughtofasapotentialstrategytoenhancetheuniversityEnglishlearners'vocabularyacquisition.
Theaimofthisresearchis,therefore,toprovideanextensiveliteraturereviewontheprinciplesofsecondlanguagevocabularylearningandthefeaturesofmicro-coursedesign.Bydrawingonrelevanttheoriesandstrategies,weaimtodevelopacomprehensiveandeffectivemicro-coursedesignforuniversityEnglishlearners.

Vocabularylearningisacomplexandmultifacetedcognitiveprocessthatinvolvesseveralinterrelatedfactors.Itiswidelyacknowledgedthatcontextandmeaningfulnessplaysignificantrolesinvocabularyacquisition,anditismoreeffectivewhenitoccursinacommunicativecontext.Theinteractionbetweenthelearnerandthelanguageisalsosignificant,aslearnersshowpreferencewhentheexposuretonewvocabularyismultiple
