Abstract:
Thisstudyaimedtoinvestigatetheimpactofvocabularycheck-inappsoncollegestudent'slearning.Weanalyzedtheimplementationofvocabularycheck-inappsincollegestudents'dailyroutineandperformanceinvocabularytests.Theresultsdemonstratedthatvocabularycheck-inappshaveapositiveinfluenceoncollegestudents'learning.ThestudyshowedanincreasedmotivationforlearningEnglish,enhancedlearningefficiency,andbetterretentionofnewvocabularylearned.
Introduction:
Thepresentstudyaimedtoidentifyandinvestigatetheimpactofvocabularycheck-inappsoncollegestudent'slearning.Inthelastfewyears,withthegrowingnumberofappsandthepopularityofmobiletechnology,vocabularyCheck-Inappshavebecomepopularamongbothteachersandstudents.Theseappsprovideaconvenientandaccessiblewayforlearnerstoincreasetheirvocabularyknowledge.Vocabularycheck-inappsallowstudentstoreviewandmemorizevocabularywordsinanorganizedmanner.Theyprovideuserswithflashcards,quizzes,andgamestomakelearningmoreengaging.Despitethepopularityandpotentialbenefitsoftheseapps,fewstudieshaveinvestigatedtheireffectivenessincollegestudents'learning.Thisstudy,therefore,aimstofillthegapintheliteratureandprovideinsightsintotheimpactofvocabularycheck-inappsoncollegestudents'learning.
LiteratureReview:
Therehavebeenseveralstudiesontheuseoftechnologyinthelanguagelearningprocess.Afewstudieshavefocusedonmobileappsandtheirimpactonvocabularyacquisition.Gaoetal.(2016)identifiedthatmobileappshadapositiveimpactonEnglishlearningintermsofmotivation,learningefficiency,andlearningeffectiveness.Similarly,Wang(2017)revealedthattheuseofmobileappsinthelanguagelearningprocessenhancedlearners'motivationandengagement.Furthermore,mobileappssuchasvocabularycheck-inappscanpromotevocabularylearningandimproveretention(Biermeier-Hansonetal.,2017).
