Abstract:
Englishvocabularyacquisitionisanessentialcomponentoflanguagelearningforcollegestudents.Inrecentyears,technologyhasrevolutionizedthewaylanguageislearned,particularlywiththeriseofinformaldigitalEnglishlearningplatforms.ThisresearchaimstoinvestigatetheimpactofboththequantityandqualityofinformaldigitalEnglishlearningoncollegestudents'vocabularyacquisition.ThestudyexploresthecorrelationbetweenthetimespentoninformaldigitalEnglishlearningandthequalityofvocabularyacquisition.Additionally,itinvestigatestheeffectivenessofvariousdigitallearningresourcesinimprovingvocabulary.
Introduction:
Englishhasbecomethelinguafrancaofthemodernworld,andcollegestudentsmustacquireastrongvocabularyforacademic,professional,andpersonalsuccess.InformaldigitalEnglishlearningresources,suchasmobileapplications,websites,andsocialmediaplatforms,havegainedpopularityduetotheiraccessibilityandflexibility.However,itisessentialtoexaminetheimpactoftheseresourcesoncollegestudents'vocabularyacquisition.ThisstudyintendstofillthegapinexistingresearchbyinvestigatingtherelationshipbetweenthequantityandqualityofinformallyengagingwithEnglishlanguageresources.
Methodology:
ToexaminetheimpactofinformaldigitalEnglishlearningonvocabularyacquisition,amixed-methodsapproachwillbeemployed.ThestudywillinvolveadministeringaquestionnairetoasampleofcollegestudentstogatherdataontheirusageofinformaldigitalEnglishlearningresources.Theirresponseswillbeanalyzedquantitativelytodeterminetherelationshipbetweenthequantityoftimespentontheseresourcesandvocabularyskills.
Additionally,avocabularytestwillbeconductedtoassessthequalityofvocabularyacquisitionamongtheparticipants.Theparticipants'scoreswillbecomparedwiththeirreportedusageofinformaldigitalEnglishlearningresourcestoexaminetheirproficiencyinvocabulary.
