Abstract:
Thisreportpresentstheresearchprogressontheperformancestudyofamplitude-frequencyandphase-frequencyfilteringofmulti-channelfiberBragggratingsbasedonphasesampling.Thereportincludesabriefintroductiontotheresearchbackground,researchobjectives,researchmethods,andresearchprogress.Additionally,thereportsummarizestheresultsoftheamplitude-frequencyandphase-frequencyfilteringperformanceanalysis,anddiscussesthepotentialapplicationsoftheproposedmulti-channelfiberBragggratings.
Introduction:
FiberBragggratings(FBGs)areoneofthemostimportantopticaldevicesusedforvariousapplicationsincommunication,sensing,andmetrology.FBGscanbeusedaswavelengthfilters,dispersioncompensators,andsensingelements.OneofthemostimportantfeaturesofFBGsistheirabilitytoreflectlightwithacertainwavelength,makingthemapromisingtoolformulti-wavelengthsystemapplications.However,traditionalFBGscanonlyreflectlightinasinglewavelengthband,whichlimitstheirpotentialapplications.Toovercomethislimitation,multi-channelFBGshavebeenproposedandinvestigatedinrecentyears.
Multi-channelFBGscanprovidemultiplereflectionbands,whichcanbeusedforwavelengthdivisionmultiplexing(WDM)applications.Amongdifferenttypesofmulti-channelFBGs,phasesamplingFBGshaveattractedalotofattentionduetotheiruniqueproperties.IntheseFBGs,thephaseofthereflectionspectrumissampledperiodicallyalongthegratingstructure,whichallowsthegenerationofmultiplereflectionbands.Additionally,phasesamplingFBGscanprovidehighreflectivityandlowcrosstalkbetweenthereflectionbands.Duetotheseuniqueproperties,phasesamplingFBGshavebeenwidelyinvestigatedforvariousapplications,suchasWDMsystems,fiberlasers,signalprocessing,andsensing.
ResearchObjectives:
Themainobjectiveofthisresearchistoinvestigatetheamplitude-frequencyandphase-frequencyfilteringperformancesofmulti-channelFBGsbasedonphasesampling.Specifically,thefollowingobjectiveswillbeaddressed:
