Abstract:
Thefinitedifferencemethodisawell-establishednumericaltechniqueusedtosolvepartialdifferentialequations.Inthispaper,weaimtofurtherinvestigatethefinitedifferencemethodfortheone-dimensionaldiffusionequationU_t=aU_(xx).Weexplorevariousaspectsofthismethod,includingitsaccuracy,stability,andconvergenceproperties.Throughextensivenumericalexperiments,wedemonstratetheeffectivenessandlimitationsofthefinitedifferencemethodinapproximatingthediffusionequation.Moreover,wediscusspossibleimprovementsandextensionstoenhancethemethod'sperformance.
