Abstract
Inordertoprotectelectronicdevicesfromshort-circuits,asoftwareandhardwareco-controlshort-circuitcurrentlimitingprotectionmethodisproposed.Thismethodcombinestheadvantagesofsoftwareandhardwaretopreventshort-circuitcurrentsfromdamagingelectronicdevices.Firstly,thepaperintroducesthecausesanddangersofshort-circuits.Then,theprincipleofthesoftwareandhardwareco-controlshort-circuitcurrentlimitingprotectionmethodisdescribedindetail.Finally,theimplementationofthismethodisanalyzedfromtheaspectsofhardwaredesign,softwareprogrammingandthecoordinationbetweenthetwo.Theresultsshowthattheproposedmethodcaneffectivelypreventshort-circuitsandprotectelectronicdevices.

Introduction
Withtheincreasingapplicationofelectronicdevices,theproblemofshort-circuitshasbecomemoreandmoreprominent.Ashort-circuitisacommonfaultinelectroniccircuits,whichcancauseseriousdamagetoelectronicdevicesandevenleadtofire.Therefore,itisnecessarytostudyeffectiveshort-circuitprotectionmethods.
Ingeneral,therearetwotypesofshort-circuitprotectionmethods:hardwareprotectionandsoftwareprotection.Hardwareprotectionisachievedbyaddingprotectivedevicessuchasfuses,circuitbreakersandthyristorstothecircuit.Whenashort-circuitoccurs,thesedevicescanquicklydisconnectthecircuitandpreventexcessivecurrentfromdamagingelectronicdevices.However,hardwareprotectionhaslimitations,suchashighcost,slowresponseandlimitedprecision.Softwareprotectionisachievedbyaddingsoftwarealgorithmstothecontrolsystemtomonitorthecircuitandintervenewhenashort-circuitoccurs.Althoughsoftwareprotectionhastheadvantagesoflowcost,highprecisionandfastresponse,italsohasaweaknessinthatitreliesonthecorrectoperationofthesoftware,whichmaybeaffectedbyvariousfactorsandleadtoerrors.
