Introduction:
Englishlanguageteachinghasundergonesignificantchangesinrecentyears,withaparticularfocusontailoringinstructiontomeetthespecificneedsandgoalsoflearners.CollegeEnglishgradedteachingandEnglishforSpecificPurposes(ESP)teachingaretwoapproachesthathavegainedattentioninthisregard.Thispaperaimstoexplorethepotentialbenefitsofintegratingthesetwoteachingmethodsinordertoenhancelanguageproficiencyandcatertothediverseneedsoflearners.
I.UnderstandingCollegeEnglishGradedTeaching:
CollegeEnglishgradedteachingisanapproachthatdivideslanguagelearningintodifferentlevels,guidingstudentsthroughasystematicprogressionoflanguageskills.Thisapproachisprevalentinmanyuniversitiesandaimstodevelopstudents'overalllanguageproficiency,includinglistening,speaking,reading,andwriting.Theteachingmaterialsareoftenselectedanddesignedbasedonthelinguisticcomplexityandcognitivedemandsateachlevel.
