Introduction
Friendshipisreferringtoarelationshipbetweenfriendsorthestateofbeingfriends.Peoplearesocialanimalsandcannotbedivorcedfromsocialgroups.Keepinginthecommunitywithpeoplehasbecomeanimportantpartoflifeinthisbiggroup.BothChinaandWesternviewfriendshipastreasure.

WiththedevelopmentofReformandOpenDoorandeconomicglobalization,ChinahasbeenincreasinglyfrequentcommunicatingwithWesterncountries;especiallywiththeAmericathatistoreachanewstage.
WithgrowingnumberofChinesestudentsinAmerica,andthe2008OlympicGamesheldinChinawhichmaderelationsbetweenChineseandAmericanapriority.Inthissituation,thefriendshipbetweenourtwopeopleswithdifferentcustomsofdifferentcultureshasalsobeentested.What’sthedifferenceinfriendshipbetweenChineseandAmerican?WhytherearesomanypuzzledfortheChinesestudentsinthefriendshipoftheAmericans.Inthispaper,thesequestionswillbetalked.
Amanwithoutfriendsisanangelwithoutwings.Thatisawesternproverb.Wedependonourparentsathomeandrelyonfriendswhenweareawayfromhome.ThatisaChinesesaying.Friendshipisimportantallone'slife.Inthisregard,ChinesecultureandAmericanculturehassomethingincommon.Asfordutiesofafriend,eachonehasitsownspecialandtraditionalview.
