Introduction:
Identity-basedmulti-keyauthenticationprotocolshavegainedasignificantamountofattentionintheresearcharenaowingtotheirabilitytosolvevarioussecurityconcernsofconventionalmulti-keyauthenticationmethods.Theseprotocolsprovideamoreefficientsolutionformutualauthenticationandkeyexchangebetweentwoparties.However,inrecentyears,manysuchprotocolshavebeenfoundtobevulnerabletosecurityattacks,makingitcrucialtodevelopauthenticationprotocolsthatensurehighlevelsofsecurity.Therefore,thispaperaimstoprovideanin-depthoverviewofthetopicandtopresentanewidentity-basedmulti-keyauthenticationprotocolthatofferssuperiorsecurity,whilemaintaininghighefficiency.
OverviewofIdentity-BasedMulti-KeyAuthenticationProtocols:
Identity-basedmulti-keyauthenticationprotocolsaredesignedtoauthenticatetwopartieswhileexchangingmultiplekeys.Theyutilizeacombinationofcryptographictechniquessuchaspublic-keycryptography,digitalsignatures,andhashfunctions,alongwiththeconceptofidentity-basedcryptography.Theprotocolbeginswiththegenerationofasharedsecretkeybetweentheparties,andtheauthenticationprocessiscompletedusingthissharedkey.Thesharedkeyisthenusedforthesecureexchangeofotherkeysbetweentheparties.
However,severalsecurityconcernsexistinidentity-basedmulti-keyauthenticationprotocols.Themostcommonsecurityattacksontheseprotocolsincludeman-in-the-middleattacks,replayattacks,impersonationattacks,andkey-compromiseattacks.Therefore,itiscrucialtodevelopprotocolsthateliminateorminimizetheseconcerns.
ProposedIdentity-BasedMulti-KeyAuthenticationProtocol:
Toensurehighlevelsofsecurityinidentity-basedmulti-keyauthenticationprotocols,weproposeanewprotocolthatincorporatesthefollowingfeatures:
1.Publickeycertificate-basedauthenticationtoensurethatthepartiesinvolvedaregenuinelywhotheyclaimtobe.
2.Theuseoftimestampstopreventreplayattacks.
3.Thesimultaneousexchangeofmultiplekeystoreducethenumberofcommunicationroundsandenhanceefficiency.
4.Theuseofsymmetrickeyencryptionforsecureexchangeofkeys.
