Theinjectionmoldingprocessiswidelyusedintheproductionofvariousplasticproducts,includinglampbodies.However,weldingseamsmayoccurduringtheinjectionmoldingprocess,whichwouldaffecttheappearanceandperformanceofthefinalproduct.Thispaperaimstoexplorethepredictionandcountermeasuresforweldingseamsintheinjectionmoldingoflampbodies.
1.Introduction:
1.1Background:
Injectionmoldingisacommonlyusedtechniqueforproducinglampbodiesduetoitsadvantagesofhighefficiencyandlowcost.However,weldingseamsareoftenobservedinthemoldedparts,whichmayleadtoreducedmechanicalstrengthandcompromisedaesthetics.
1.2Objective:
Theobjectiveofthisstudyistoanalyzethefactorscontributingtoweldingseamsduringtheinjectionmoldingprocessoflampbodiesandproposeeffectivecountermeasurestominimizeoreliminatesuchdefects.
2.Factorscontributingtoweldingseams:
2.1Materialselection:
Thechoiceofplasticmaterialplaysacrucialroleindeterminingtheoccurrenceofweldingseams.Materialswithhighermeltflowratestendtohaveahighertendencyfortheformationofweldingseams.
2.2Melttemperature:
Themelttemperatureaffectstheviscosityofthemoltenplasticmaterial,whichinturninfluencestheflowbehaviorandtheformationofweldingseams.Impropermelttemperaturecanleadtoexcessivecoolingtimeandcauseweldingseams.
2.3Injectionmoldingparameters:
Theinjectionmoldingparameters,suchasinjectionspeed,pressure,andholdingtime,cansignificantlyaffecttheflowbehaviorofthemoltenmaterialandtheformationofweldingseams.Optimalparametersettingsmustbedeterminedtominimizeweldingseamformation.
3.Methodsforpredictingweldingseams:

Computer-aidedengineering(CAE)softwarecansimulatetheinjectionmoldingprocessandpredicttheoccurrenceofweldingseamsbasedontheinputparameters.Thismethodprovidesacost-effectivewaytooptimizethemoldingprocessandreducethelikelihoodofweldingseamdefects.

Moldflowanalysispredictstheflowbehaviorofthemoltenmaterialinthemoldcavity.
