英语专业和非英语专业学生课堂参与差异研究 Title:AComparativeStudyofClassroomParticipationDifferencesbetweenEnglishMajorandNon-EnglishMajorStudents Introduction: Classroomparticipationplaysacrucialroleinthelearningandteachingprocess.Itiswidelyacknowledgedthatactiveparticipationleadstobetterlearningoutcomes.However,therehavebeenobserveddifferencesinthelevelofparticipationbetweenEnglishmajorandnon-Englishmajorstudents.Thisstudyaimstoexploreandanalyzethesedifferencestogainabetterunderstandingofhowdisciplinarybackgroundsinfluenceclassroomparticipation. Methodology: Toconductthisresearch,amixed-methodapproachwillbeemployed.Firstly,aquantitativeanalysiswillbeconductedthroughsurveysdistributedtobothEnglishmajorandnon-Englishmajorstudents.Thesesurveyswillassessthelevelsofparticipationandmotivationsforparticipationinclass.Secondly,qualitativeinterviewswillbeconductedwithasmallselectionofstudentstogainmorein-depthinsightsintotheirexperiencesandperspectives.Thesubjectswillbeselectedinawaythatensuresadiverserepresentationofacademiclevels,majors,andgender. Findings: 1.QuantitativeAnalysisofClassroomParticipation: Throughthesurveys,itwasfoundthatEnglishmajorstudentstendtoparticipatemoreactivelyinclasscomparedtonon-Englishmajorstudents.Thisdifferencemaybeattributedtothefollowingfactors: a.FamiliaritywiththeSubjectMatter: Englishmajorstudents,duetotheirspecializededucationalbackground,mayfeelmoreconfidentandknowledgeableaboutthetopicsdiscussedinclass.Thiswouldnaturallymakethemmoreinclinedtoparticipateandsharetheirinsights. b.LanguageProficiency: Englishmajorstudents,astheirdisciplinefocusesonEnglishlanguageandliterature,arelikelytohaveahigherlevelofEnglishproficiency.Thislinguisticadvantagemakesiteasierforthemtoarticulatetheirthoughtsandactivelyengageinclassdiscussions. c.CulturalDifferences: SinceEnglishmajorstudentsareoftenexposedtoamoreinteractiveandparticipatorylearningenvironmentintheirdiscipline-specificcourses,theymaybemoreaccustomedtoactiveparticipation.Thiscouldresultinahigherwillingnesstoexpre
