Abstract:
TheSBP-boxgenefamilyisanimportanttranscriptionfactorfamilythatplayscrucialrolesinplantgrowth,development,andstressresponses.Inthisstudy,weconductedacomprehensiveanalysisoftheSBP-boxgenefamilyinPhaseolusvulgaris,thecommonbean.Atotalof18SBP-boxgeneswereidentifiedandcharacterizedbasedontheirmolecularfeaturesandevolutionaryrelationships.Phylogeneticanalysisclassifiedthesegenesintoeightdistinctsubfamilies.
Introduction:
TheSBP-boxgenefamilyisnamedaftertheconservedSBP(SQUAMOSApromoter-bindingprotein-like)domain,whichischaracterizedbyahighlyconservedDNA-bindingdomain.Thisgenefamilyhasbeenwell-studiedinvariousplantspeciesandhasbeenimplicatedinregulatingdiverseprocesses,suchasflowerdevelopment,plantarchitecture,fruitripening,andstressresponses.UnderstandingthemolecularfeaturesandevolutionarycharacteristicsoftheSBP-boxgenefamilyinPhaseolusvulgariscanprovidevaluableinsightsintotheirfunctionalrolesinthisimportantcrop.
Methods:
ToidentifyandcharacterizetheSBP-boxgenesinPhaseolusvulgaris,weperformedacomprehensivesearchinthecommonbeangenomedatabase.TheconservedSBPdomainwasusedasaqueryinaBLASTsearch,followedbytheexaminationofconservedproteinmotifsandtheirphysicochemicalproperties.MultiplesequencealignmentwasperformedtoanalyzethestructuralconservationofSBP-boxgenes.Evolutionaryrelationshipsweredeterminedthroughphylogeneticanalysis,usingtheNeighbor-Joiningmethod.
Results:
Atotalof18SBP-boxgeneswereidentifiedinthePhaseolusvulgarisgenome.Thesegenesdisplayedvariationsinthelengthoftheopenreadingframe,rangingfrom426to1,230bp.MultiplesequencealignmentrevealedahighlevelofconservationwithintheSBPdomainsofthesegenes,suggestingtheirfunctionalsimilarity.PhylogeneticanalysisdividedtheSBP-boxgenesintoeightsubfamilies,designatedasSBP1toSBP8,basedontheirsequencesimilarityandevolutionaryrelatedness.

ThephylogeneticanalysisdemonstratedthattheSBP-boxgenefamilyinPhaseolu
