1.Introduction
LongTermEvolution(LTE)isastandardforwirelessbroadbandcommunication,providinghigh-speeddatatransfertomobiledevices.LTEhastwovariants:TDD-LTE(TimeDivisionDuplex)andFDD-LTE(FrequencyDivisionDuplex).Thesetwovariantsusedifferenttechniquesofutilizingthewirelessfrequencyspectrum.WhileFDD-LTEusesseparatefrequencybandsforuploadanddownload,TDD-LTEutilizesthesamefrequencyband,butthetimeslotsallocatedforuploadanddownloadaredifferent.TheadventofTDD-LTEandFDD-LTEhasledtothedevelopmentofinnovativetechnologies,andhasexpandedthenetworkrange,makingitomnipresent.ThispaperexaminestheinteroperabilityofahybridTDD-LTEandFDD-LTEnetwork.
2.LTEFDD
LTEFDDisbasedonexistingGSMandUMTSnetworkstructuresandmaintainsthefrequencybandsusedby2Gand3Gtechnologies.FDDprovideshighercapacityandstabilitythanpreviousmobilephonetechnologies.Ithasaclearseparationbetweenuplinkanddownlinkallowingforincreasedspeedandreliabilityincommunication.
3.TD-LTE
TD-LTEisbasedonacompletelydifferentstructurethanLTEFDD.Coveredbyasinglefrequencyband,TD-LTEisaTimeDivisionprotocolthatdividesuplinkanddownlinkbyallocatingdifferenttimeslotstoeach.Eachuserhasfullaccesstonetworkresources,withoutbeinglimitedbyfrequencysegmentation,whichisthecaseforFDD.TD-LTEisgenerallysuitedforareaswherethereisahighdatatrafficload,becauseitcantakeadvantageofitsdynamicresourceallocationtoallowformoreefficientdatatransfer.
4.InterworkingofTDD-LTEandFDD-LTE
TheinterworkingofTDD-LTEandFDD-LTEtechnologiesisknownasHybridLTE,anditallowsbothtechnologiestooperateonthesamenetwork.TheintegrationofTDD-LTEandFDD-LTEallowsgreaterflexibilityinfrequencyusageandcanenhanceoverallnetworkcapacity.

UnifiedRadioResourceManagement(URRM)isatechnologythatallowsforTDD-LTEandFDD-LTEtousethesamefrequencybandandradioresourcemanagement(RRM).URRMcanoptimizetheuseoffrequencybandsandimprovetheflexibilityofnetworkresourcestoensurethatbothvariantsofLTEworkseamlessly.
