Abstract:
Thisresearchpaperexaminesgenderdifferencesintheuseofsentence-finalparticles,alsoknownassentence-endersorfinalexpressions,inJapaneselanguagetextbooks.TheseparticlesareanessentialaspectofJapanesegrammar,addingnuancesofpoliteness,assertiveness,uncertainty,oremotionalemphasistosentences.
Utilizingacorpus-basedanalysisapproach,thisstudyinvestigatesthefrequencyandusagepatternsofsentence-finalparticlesusedbymaleandfemalecharactersinasampleofJapaneselanguagetextbooks.Throughanin-depthexaminationofthetextbooks,thisresearchaimstoshedlightonwhetherthereisasignificantgenderdisparityintheuseoftheseparticlesandthepotentialunderlyingreasons.
Introduction:
Japanesesentence-finalparticlesplayacrucialroleinindicatingspeakerintention,attitude,socialstatus,andgender.FewstudieshaveexaminedthepotentialgenderdifferencesintheuseoftheseparticlesinJapaneselanguagetextbooks.Understandingsuchdifferencesisessentialforlanguagelearnersandeducators,asithelpslearnersacquiretheappropriatelanguageskillsandculturalawareness.
Methodology:
1.CorpusSelection:
ArepresentativesampleofJapaneselanguagetextbookswillbeselectedforanalysisinthisstudy.ThetextbookswillcoverdifferentproficiencylevelstoensureacomprehensiverepresentationoftheJapaneselanguagelearningprocess.
2.DataCollection:
Thesampletextbookswillbethoroughlyexamined,andallinstancesofsentence-finalparticlesusedbymaleandfemalecharacterswillberecorded.Thedatawillincludeboththefrequencyandtypesofparticlesused.
3.DataAnalysis:
