Paeonialactiflora,commonlyknownaspeony,isapopularornamentalplantknownforitsbeautifulflowers.UnderstandingtheprocessofflowerbuddifferentiationinP.lactifloraisimportantforgeneticimprovementandcultivationpractices.ThispaperaimstoreviewthecurrentknowledgeandrecentadvancementsinthestudyofflowerbuddifferentiationinP.lactiflora.
Introduction:
Flowerbuddifferentiationisacrucialstageinthedevelopmentoffloweringplants,duringwhichvegetativebudsundergomorphologicalchangestotransformintoreproductivestructures.Theprocessinvolvescomplexregulatorymechanismsthatarestillnotfullyunderstood.P.lactiflora,aperennialplantnativetoChina,belongstothePaeoniaceaefamilyandiswidelycultivatedforitsornamentalflowers.Understandingflowerbuddifferentiationinthisplantisessentialforbreedingprogramsandcommercialproduction.
