Methodology ThestudyadoptsacasestudyapproachtoanalyzethespeechfeaturesofateacherinanAdvancedEnglishclass.Theteacher'stalkduringthelessonswasrecordedandtranscribed,andthedatawasanalyzedbyusingthediscourseanalysismethod. Result Theresultsshowthattheteacher'stalkinanadvancedEnglishclasshasseveraldistinctivefeatures.Firstly,theteacherusesalotofcomplexvocabularythatissuitableforthelevelofthestudents.Theteacheralsousesalotofacademicvocabularythatisspecifictothesubjectmatter.Secondly,theteacherusesalotofdiscoursemarkerssuchas“well”,“so”,“now”etctoorganizespeechandguidestudentstowardsimportantpoints.Thirdly,theteacheralsousesvarioustypesofquestionssuchasopen-ended,rhetorical,andclosedquestionstocheckstudents'understanding,stimulatetheirthinking,andencouragetheirparticipation.Finally,theteacherusesvarioustypesoffeedbacksuchaspositive,negative,andcorrectivefeedbacktohelpstudentsimprovetheirlanguageskills. Discussion Theanalysisoftheteacher'stalkinanadvancedEnglishclasssuggeststhattheteacherisusingseveraleffectivefeaturestohelpcreateanengaginglearningenvironmentforstudents.Theuseofadvancedvocabulary,discoursemarkers,andquestioningtechniquescanhelpstudentstounderstandthematerialandconnectittootherideas.Additionally,theuseoffeedbackcanhelpindividualstudentsidentifytheirstrengthsandareasforimprovement.
