Background
TheEnglishMajorLevelFourexamaimstoassesstheEnglishlanguageproficiencyofnon-nativespeakersofEnglishinChina.ItisadministeredtothosewhohavecompletedtheiruniversitystudiesandplantopursuefurtherstudiesorworkinEnglish-speakingcountries.Theexaminationisconductedintwophases;thefirstinvolvestestingofthegrammarandvocabularyofthetesttaker,andthesecondphaseconsistsofareadingcomprehensiontest.Thereadingtestiscomposedofacompletetextandincompletetextcompletiontasks.Thesecompleteandincompletepassageshavebeendesignedtotestthetest-taker'sreadingskills,includingtheirabilitytocomprehendtexts,theirvocabulary,andgrammar.
