Background: MongolianethnicstudentsfacenumerouschallengesinlearningEnglish,specificallywhenitpertainstoacquiringculturalvocabulary.Culturalvocabularyencompasseswordsandphrasesthataredeeplyrootedintheculture,history,andtraditionsofEnglish-speakingcountries.TheacquisitionofculturalvocabularyiscrucialasitenableslearnerstocomprehendandcommunicateeffectivelyinEnglishanddevelopculturalcompetence.However,duetodifferencesinlinguisticandculturalbackgrounds,MongolianethnicstudentsoftenstrugglewithacquiringthisspecificaspectoftheEnglishlanguage. Methodology: Thisresearchpaperutilizedamixed-methodsapproachtoinvestigatethecurrentsituationofEnglishculturalvocabularyacquisitionamongMongolianethnicstudentsmajoringinEnglishinacademicinstitutions.Quantitativedatawerecollectedthroughaquestionnairesurvey,whilequalitativedataweregatheredthroughinterviewsandclassroomobservations.TheresearchsampleconsistedofMongolianethnicstudentsfromvariousuniversitiesinChina.
