Abstract:
TheaimofthisstudyistoexaminetheeffectivenessofBaicizhan,apopularEnglishvocabularylearningapplication,inimprovinghighschoolstudents'Englishvocabularyretention.TheresearchexploresthevalidityofBaicizhanbyexaminingitsimpactontheacquisition,retention,andrecallofvocabularyitemsamonghighschoolstudents.Additionally,thestudyinvestigatesthepotentialbenefitsandlimitationsofusingamobileapplicationforvocabularylearning.
Introduction:
Inrecentyears,digitallanguagelearningtoolshavegainedpopularityamongstudents.OnesuchtoolisBaicizhan,whichclaimstoenhancevocabularyretentionthroughitsvariousfeatures,suchasflashcards,wordlists,andcontextualexercises.However,theefficacyofBaicizhaninimprovingvocabularyretentionamonghighschoolstudentsremainslargelyunexplored.ThisstudyaimstoaddressthisgapbyinvestigatingthevalidityofBaicizhaninthecontextofhighschoolstudents'Englishvocabularylearning.
Methodology:
Participants:Thestudyinvolvedasampleof100highschoolstudents(50malesand50females)agedbetween15and18years.Theparticipantswererandomlyassignedintotwogroups:experimentalgroup(usingBaicizhan)andcontrolgroup(usingtraditionalvocabularylearningmethods).
Procedure:Bothgroupswerepretestedtoassesstheirinitialvocabularyknowledge.TheexperimentalgroupthenusedBaicizhanasasupplementarytoolforvocabularylearningforaperiodofthreemonths,whereasthecontrolgroupcontinuedwiththeirusualvocabularylearningstrategies.Post-testswereconductedattheendofthestudytoevaluatetheparticipants'vocabularyacquisition,retention,andrecall.
DataAnalysis:Thedatacollectedfromthepreandpost-testswereanalyzedusingstatisticalmeasures,includingmeanscores,t-tests,andeffectsizes.Additionally,aquestionnairewasadministeredtotheexperimentalgrouptogatherfeedbackregardingtheirexperiencewithBaicizhan.
Results:
Theresultsofthestudyindicatedthattheexperimentalgroup,whichusedBaicizhanasasupplementarytool,demonstratedsignificantlyhigher
