GrammarplaysanessentialroleintheEnglishlanguagelearningprocess.Ithelpslearnerstounderstandhowthelanguageworksandenablesthemtocommunicateeffectively.However,traditionalgrammarteachingmethodshavebeencriticizedforbeingtediousandineffective.Task-basedlanguageteaching(TBLT)hasbeenintroducedasamoreengagingandefficientalternative.Thepurposeofthispaperistoexploretheeffectivenessoftask-basedgrammarteachinginlanguagelearning,usingacasestudytoillustratethebenefitsandchallengesofthisapproach.

Traditionalgrammarteachingfocusesontheacquisitionofgrammaticalstructuresthroughexplicitinstructionandpractice.Itemphasizesthepresentationandexplanationofgrammarrules,followedbymechanicalexercisesaimedatdrillingtherulesintothestudents'heads.Thisapproachhasbeencriticizedforbeingboringandineffective,asitdoesnotprovidestudentswithopportunitiestousethelanguageinreal-lifesituations,andisoftendisconnectedfrommeaningfulcommunication.
Task-BasedGrammarTeaching
Task-basedlanguageteaching(TBLT)isanalternativeapproachthatemphasizeslearningthroughcommunicationandlanguageuse.InTBLT,learnersaregivenatasktoperform,whichrequiresthemtouselanguagecreativelyandmeaningfully.Thetaskcanbebasedoneitherreal-lifesituationsorclassroomsettings,anditisdesignedtoengagelearnersinacommunicativeandcollaborativeprocess.Aslearnersworkonthetask,theyencounterlanguageproblemsandchallenges,whichareaddressedthroughnegotiationwiththeirpeersortheteacher.Thefocusisonmeaningandcommunication,ratherthangrammarrules,andlearnersareencouragedtousethelanguageinaflexibleandcontextualizedway.
EffectivenessofTask-BasedGrammarTeaching
