Introduction
TD-SCDMA(TimeDivision-SynchronousCodeDivisionMultipleAccess)isawirelesscommunicationsystemthatiswidelyusedinChina.TurboJointDetectionAlgorithm(TJDA)isanadvanceddetectiontechnologythathasbeenaddedtotheTD-SCDMAsysteminordertoimprovesignaldecodinganderrorcorrectionperformance.Inthispaper,wewillprovideasimplifiedanalysisoftheTurboJointDetectionAlgorithmanditsapplicationintheTD-SCDMAsystem.
TurboJointDetectionAlgorithm
Thebiggestchallengeinwirelesscommunicationsystemsistheinterferencecausedbysignaltransmission.Whenmultipleusersinanetworkaretransmittingsimultaneously,signalsareoftendistortedandthereceivingendcannotdecodetheoriginalmessage.TheTurboJointDetectionAlgorithmisdesignedtoovercomethisproblem.
ThebasicideaoftheTurboJointDetectionAlgorithmistousetheTurbocodetoencodetheinformationtwice.Twodifferentencodingsareusedandtheresultingcodewordsaretransmittedalternately.Atthereceivingend,bothsignalsaredecodedsimultaneously,andthenthetwostreamsaremergedtorecovertheoriginalsignal.
TheTurboJointDetectionAlgorithmimprovesthedetectionqualityoftheTD-SCDMAsystem.BycombiningtheadvantagesoftheTurbocodeandthejointdetectionalgorithm,thealgorithmgreatlyenhancestheaccuracyofsignaldetection.
ApplicationofTurboJointDetectionAlgorithminTD-SCDMASystem
TheTurboJointDetectionAlgorithmgreatlyimprovestheperformanceoftheTD-SCDMAsystembyreducingtheimpactofinterferencesignals.Thesystemisdividedintotwoparts:thedownlinkandtheuplink.Inthedownlink,thebasestationsendssignalstomultiplemobiledevicessimultaneously.Intheuplink,themobiledevicessendsignalstothebasestation.
Inthedownlink,theTurboJointDetectionAlgorithmselectstheoptimaldecodingmethodbasedonthesignalquality.Thedecoderfirstreceivesanddecodestheoriginalsignalforeachuser.Then,thedecoderexchangesinformationwiththeotherdecoderstorefinethedecodingresults.Thisprocessisrepeatedseveraltimesuntiltheoptimaldecodingisachieved.
