Today'sworldisasocietydrivenbytechnologicaladvancements.Theadvancementshaveopenedupnumerousoptionsforcommunicationandsharinginformation.Theinternetisoneofthecrucialtechnologicaladvancementsthatprovideefficientandalmostinstantaneousinformationsharing.Withemergingapplicationsoftechnology,intelligenttransportsystems(ITS)havebecomenecessaryforensuringefficientcommunicationandmanagingtrafficcongestion.ToimproveITS,researchersareconstantlylookingfornewwaystotransmitdataquicklyandsecurely.OneofthenewmethodsthatresearchersareexploringistheuseofBroadcastDisksforefficientdistributionofaerialbitmapindexes.
Background
Theairindexbitmapisadatastructureusedtomanageandsaveinformationforefficientmanagementofaerialphotos.Thebitmapstructureenablesefficientqueryingofaerialphotosdatasuchasroutediscovery,queryprocessing,andphotoretrieval.Themainchallengeinthemanagementofaerialphotosisthesheersizeoftheimages.Toovercomethischallenge,airindexbitmapstructuresareusedtocontainthephotodatabase.However,sincethephotodatabaseisoftenlarge,theindexdeliveryprocessbecomesasignificantbottleneck.Therefore,thereisagrowingneedforefficientdeliveryofaerialindexbitmaps.
