Abstract:
ForeignDirectInvestment(FDI)hasplayedacrucialroleinthedevelopmentofindustrialclustersworldwide.Thispaperaimstoexplorethewave-likeevolutionofindustrialclustersbasedonFDI.Thestudyinvestigatesthefactorsinfluencingtheformation,growth,anddeclineofindustrialclustersbyexaminingthepatternofFDIindifferentphasesofclusterdevelopment.Thefindingsofthisresearchcanprovideinsightsforpolicymakersandbusinesscommunitiestobetterunderstandthedynamicsofindustrialclustersandformulatestrategiestopromotesustainabledevelopment.
1.Introduction
Industrialclustershavebeenrecognizedaspowerfuldriversofeconomicgrowthandinnovation.Foreigndirectinvestment(FDI),asacatalystforindustrialdevelopment,hasgreatlycontributedtotheformationandgrowthofindustrialclusters.However,theevolutionofindustrialclustersisnotlinearbutcharacterizedbywave-likepatterns.Thispaperaimstoexplorethereasonsbehindthiswave-likestructureandunderstandtheunderlyingfactorsinfluencingclusterdevelopmentatdifferentstages.
2.LiteratureReview
TheexistingliteratureonindustrialclustersandFDIprovidesatheoreticalfoundationforunderstandingthewave-likestructure.Theliteraturehighlightstheroleofagglomerationeconomies,knowledgespillovers,andnetworkeffectsinclusterformationandgrowth.Additionally,theimpactofgovernmentpoliciesandregionalcharacteristicsonclusterdevelopmenthasbeenextensivelydiscussed.
