Abstract:
InMulti-CellV-BLASTsystems,powercontrolplaysanimportantroleinimprovingtheperformanceofthewirelesscommunicationsystems.Oneofthemainchallengesinpowercontrolisthebalancingofthesignal-to-interference-plus-noiseratio(SINR)amongdifferentuserswhileachievinghighdatarates.Inthispaper,wepresentapowercontrolmethodbasedonpost-SINRbalancingtoimprovetheperformanceofV-BLASTsystems.Theproposedmethodprovidespowerallocationbasedonthefeedbackofthepost-SINRandachievestheoptimaltransmitpowerforeachusertoimprovethesystemperformance.

Introduction:
Inrecentyears,thedevelopmentofwirelesscommunicationsystemshasachievedremarkablesuccessinprovidinghigh-qualitycommunicationservicestomobileusers.Withtheincreasingdemandforhighdatarateandsystemcapacity,Multi-CellV-BLASTsystemshavebeenwidelyusedinwirelesscommunicationsystems.However,duetothemulti-userinterference,itisnecessarytoallocatetheoptimalpowertoeachusertoachievegoodsystemperformance.Powercontrolplaysacriticalroleinachievinghighdatarates,minimizinginterference,andprovidingthebestpossiblechannelqualityforusers.
IntheV-BLASTsystem,thedatarateperformanceiscloselyrelatedtothesignal-to-interference-plus-noiseratio(SINR)oftheuser.Theoptimalpowerallocationshouldachievethemaximumsum-rateandmaintainthepost-SINRofeachuseratacertainlevel.However,inamulti-cellenvironment,interferencefromothercellswillaffectthesystemperformance.Therefore,apowercontrolalgorithmthatcanbalancethepost-SINRamongdifferentuserswhileminimizinginterferenceandmaximizingthesystemperformanceisextremelyimportant.
Powercontrolalgorithmscanbeclassifiedintotwocategories:open-looppowercontrolandclosed-looppowercontrol.Open-looppowercontrolalgorithmsuseafixedpowerallocationstrategytoadjustthetransmitpowerofeachuser,whichisbasedonpastchannelinformationorthethresholdsetting.Whilst,closed-looppowercontrolalgorithmsusefeedbackinformationfromthereceivertoadjustthetransmitp
