Introduction:
Englishgrammarisafundamentalcomponentoflanguageproficiencyandcommunication.However,manycollegefreshmenstrugglewithweakfoundationalknowledgeinthisarea,whichcanhindertheiroveralllanguageskillsdevelopment.Thispaperaimstoinvestigatethecausesoftheseweaknessesandproposeeffectivestrategiestoaddressthemthroughremedialmeasures.
CausesofWeaknessesinEnglishGrammarKnowledge:
1.Inadequateprioreducation:SomecollegefreshmenmaycomefromeducationalsystemsorbackgroundsthatdidnotemphasizeEnglishgrammarinstructionsufficiently.Insufficientexposuretogrammarrulescanleadtogapsinunderstandingandapplication.
