Introduction
Asthefieldofcomputersciencecontinuestoadvance,theimportanceofEnglishasalanguageofcommunicationinthisfieldhasbecomeincreasinglyclear.Withthemajorityofprogramminglanguages,documentation,andtoolswritteninEnglish,astrongcommandofthelanguageisessentialforcomputersciencestudentsseekingtobecomeproficientintheirfield.Therefore,teachingcomputersciencestudentsEnglishhasbecomeanimportantaspectofcurriculumdevelopmentinuniversitiesandcollegesacrosstheglobe.ThispaperintendstodiscussvariousmethodsofteachingEnglishtocomputersciencestudents,includingtraditionalclassroominstruction,blendedlearning,in-contextlearning,andonlinelearning.
TraditionalClassroomInstruction
Traditionalclassroominstruction,withaninstructorlecturingatthefrontoftheroom,hasbeenastandardmethodofteachingEnglishformanyyears.Inthismethod,theinstructordevelopsacurriculumthatisfocusedonfoundationallanguageskills,suchasgrammar,vocabulary,andpronunciation.Theyalsoprovidestudentswithavarietyofmaterials,suchastextbooks,worksheets,andmultimediaresources.Classroominstructionisaneffectivewayofimpartingknowledgeandrequiresminimalinvestmentintechnology.However,withtheadventofonlinelearning,thismethodisbecomingoutdatedandmayfailtomeetthediverselearningneedsofstudents.
