Withtheadventofthe5Gera,thenetworkinginfrastructurehasevolvedtomeettheincreasingdemandforenhancedmobilebroadbandservices.However,incertainscenarios,thedeploymentof5Gnetworksmaybelimited,leadingtoaneedforfallbackmechanismstoensurecontinuousconnectivity.EPS(EvolvedPacketSystem)fallback,asonesuchmechanism,allowsforseamlesstransitionbetween5Gandlegacy4Gnetworks.

1.Introduction
Thedeploymentof5Gnetworkspromisesarangeofbenefits,includinghigherdatarates,lowerlatency,andimprovedcapacity.However,duetovariousconstraints,includinginfrastructurelimitationsanddevicecompatibilityissues,achievingcompletecoverageandseamlessconnectivitywith5Gmaynotalwaysbepossible.Insuchcases,EPSfallbackprovidesaviablesolutionformaintainingconnectivity.

EPSfallbackreferstotheabilityofamobiledevicetofallbacktoa4Gnetworkwhena5Gconnectionisunavailableorunstable.Thismechanismensuresthatuserscanstayconnectedeveninareaswhere5Gcoverageislimitedorwherethesignalqualityispoor.TheEPSfallbackprocessinvolvestheestablishmentofaconnectionwiththe4Gnetworkwhiledisconnectingfromthe5Gnetwork.
