Forestsarecrucialforthedevelopmentofacountry,providingvariousecologicalandeconomicbenefits.Forestsplayasignificantroleinregulatingtheenvironment,preservingbiodiversity,preventinglanddegradation,andmitigatingclimatechange.Atthesametime,forestsprovideecologicalservicessuchaswaterconservation,soilconservation,andairpurification.Furthermore,forestsgeneratesignificanteconomicbenefitssuchastimber,non-timberforestproducts,andrecreationactivities.

StudyAreaDescriptionandObjectives
OurstudyfocusesontheTanjiangRiverBasin,whichencompassesanareaofapproximately11,550km2insouthernChina'sFujianProvince.Theareacontainsnaturalforestecosystemsthathavebeendegradedbyhumanactivitiessuchaslogging,farming,andmining.TheobjectiveofourstudywastoestimatetheeconomicvalueoftheforestecosystemintheTanjiangRiverBasin.Weaimedtocomparetheforestecosystemvaluebetween
