Inrecentyears,Chongqinghasexperiencedrapidurbanization,accompaniedbysignificantchangesinthesocialstructureandlivingconditionsofitsruralpopulation.Toensuresocialstability,improvethewelfareofruralresidents,andnarrowtheurban-ruralincomegap,itisimperativetostrengthentheconstructionoftheruralsocialsecuritysystem.ThispaperaimstoexplorethechallengesandpotentialsolutionstoenhancethesocialsecuritysysteminChongqing'sruralareas,withafocusonimprovingsocialinsurance,medicalcare,andpovertyalleviationmeasures.
I.CurrentChallengesinChongqing'sRuralSocialSecuritySystem
1.Insufficientcoverageofsocialinsurance:ThecoverageofsocialinsuranceinChongqing'sruralareas,includingold-ageinsurance,unemploymentinsurance,andmedicalinsurance,remainslimited.Manyfarmersstilllackaccesstothesevitalformsofprotection.

II.StrategiesforEnhancingChongqing'sRuralSocialSecuritySystem
