Abstract:
Largefloatingstructuresaresusceptibletohydroelasticeffects,whichrefertothedynamicresponseofthestructurearisingfromtheinteractionbetweenthestructureandthesurroundingwater.Thispaperaimstoprovideacomprehensiveunderstandingofthefrequencydomainanalysisofhydroelasticeffectsonlargefloatingstructures.
Introduction:
Largefloatingstructures,suchasoffshoreplatforms,floatingbridges,andfloatingwindturbines,aresubjecttovariousenvironmentalloads,includingwaves,winds,andcurrents.Theseenvironmentalloadsinducehydrodynamicforcesandmomentumsthatcanleadtosignificantstructuralresponse.Additionally,theflexibilityofthestructureitselffurtherexacerbatesthedynamicresponseduetoitsinteractionwiththewater.Itiscrucialtoevaluateandunderstandthehydroelasticeffectsonlargefloatingstructurestoensuretheirsafety,operationalefficiency,anddesignoptimization.
Methodology:
Frequencydomainanalysisisawidelyusedapproachtoanalyzethehydroelasticeffectsonlargefloatingstructures.Themethodologyinvolvesdecomposingthestructuralresponseandtheenvironmentalloadsintofrequencycomponentsanddeterminingthetransferfunctionbetweenthem.Thetransferfunctionsprovidevaluableinformationabouttheamplification,damping,andphaseshiftingoftheresponse.
