Abstract:
Application-specificintegratedcircuits(ASICs)needtobetestedfortheirfunctionalityandperformancetoensurethattheycomplywiththerequiredspecifications.ThetestingprocessisacrucialstepintheASICdesignandmanufacturingprocess,asitisanessentialpartofverifyingthedesignandensuringthattheproductmeetstherequiredqualitystandards.Thetestingprocessistypicallyperformedusingautomatedtestequipment(ATE),whichrunsaseriesoftestsontheASICtodetermineifitmeetsspecificrequirements.
ThispaperdiscussestheuseofSystem-levelATEtestingtoenhanceICdesignverificationefficiency.ThepaperaimstoprovideanoverviewoftheATEtestingprocessanditssignificanceinASICdesignandmanufacturing.Thispaperhighlightsthebenefitsofusingsystem-levelATEtestingandprovidesexamplesofusecaseswheresystem-leveltestingcanenhanceICdesignverificationefficiency.
Introduction:
