Abstract:
TheBasicHelix-Loop-Helix(bHLH)genefamilyplaysacrucialroleinvariousbiologicalprocesses,includingdevelopmentandstressresponses,inplants.Inthisstudy,weconductedacomprehensiveanalysisoftheexpressionpatternsofbHLHgenefamilymembersinrice.Weanalyzedpubliclyavailabletranscriptomicdataandperformedexpressionprofilingunderdifferentdevelopmentalstagesandstressconditions.OurfindingsprovideinsightsintothepotentialfunctionsofbHLHgenesinrice.
Introduction:
ThebHLHgenefamilyisoneofthelargesttranscriptionfactorfamiliesinplants.Membersofthisfamilyareinvolvedinvariousbiologicalprocesses,includingorgandevelopment,hormonesignaling,andstressresponses.RiceisoneofthemostimportantcerealcropsworldwideandelucidatingtheexpressionpatternsofbHLHgenesinricecanprovidevaluableinformationforunderstandingtheirregulatoryrolesingrowthandstressadaptation.
Methods:
WecollectedandanalyzedpubliclyavailabletranscriptomicdatatoinvestigatetheexpressionpatternsofbHLHgenefamilymembersinrice.Thedataencompasseddifferenttissuesandstagesofdevelopment,aswellasstressconditions,suchasdrought,heat,andpathogeninfection.Weperformeddifferentialexpressionanalysesandhierarchicalclusteringtoidentifyco-expressedgenesets.Geneontology(GO)enrichmentanalysiswasconductedtodeterminethepotentialbiologicalfunctionsofthedifferentiallyexpressedbHLHgenes.
Results:
OuranalysisrevealeddistinctexpressionpatternsofbHLHgenesindifferenttissuesanddevelopmentalstagesofrice.ManybHLHgenesexhibitedtissue-specificexpression,suchasOsbHLH062andOsbHLH148,whichshowedhighexpressionlevelsinrootsandpanicles,respectively.Moreover,severalbHLHgenesdisplayedstage-specificexpressionpatternsduringdifferentdevelopmentalstages,highlightingtheirpotentialrolesinorgandevelopmentanddifferentiation.
Understressconditions,weobservedthatasubsetofbHLHgeneswasdifferentiallyexpressed.Forexample,OsbHLH003andOsbHLH160weresignificantlyupregulatedunderdroughtstress,suggestingtheirput
