Abstract:
Thecouplingeffectsbetweenliquidsloshingandthemotionofafloatingbodyhavebeenofgreatinterestinthefieldofnavalarchitectureandoffshoreengineering.Thispaperaimstoprovideacomprehensiveanalysisofthenonlineardynamicsofthecoupledliquidsloshingandfloatingbodymotion.Thestudyconsidersthescenariowherealiquidcargoisconfinedwithinapartiallyfilledtankofafloatingvessel.Thenonlinearaspectssuchaslargeamplitudesloshingandthevariationsinthefloatingbody'sresponsearetakenintoconsideration.Throughtheanalysisofthecoupledmotion,importantinsightsintothedynamicbehaviorandpotentialrisksassociatedwiththeliquidcargomovementinafloatingvesselcanbeobtained.
1.Introduction
Theoccurrenceofsloshinginliquid-filledtankscanleadtosevereproblemsintermsofstabilityandsafety,particularlyinthemarineandoffshoreindustries.Whentheliquidsloshesbackandforthwithinacontainer,itinteractswiththesurroundingstructureofthefloatingbody,thusresultingindynamicbehaviorbeyondthesimplesuperpositionoftheindividualmotions.Therefore,itisessentialtounderstandthecomplexitiesarisingfromthenonlinearcouplingbetweenthesloshingandthefloatingbodymotion.
2.LiteratureReview
