Abstract:
Mooringsystemsarewidelyusedforthesafeandstableanchorageofvariousmarinestructures.Understandingthedynamicsandbehaviorofmooringsystemsiscrucialforthedesignandoperationofoffshorestructures.Inrecentyears,therehasbeenagrowinginterestinthestudyofnonlinearrestoringforcesinmooringsystems,astheycansignificantlyimpactthesystem'sresponseunderdifferentenvironmentalconditions.Thispaperaimstoexploretheresearchonnonlinearrestoringforcesinmooringsystemsandtheirapplicationsinvariousengineeringfields.
1.Introduction
Mooringsystemsplayacriticalroleinensuringthestabilityandsafetyofoffshorestructuressuchasfloatingplatforms,vessels,andbuoys.Traditionally,mooringsystemsweredesignedbasedonlinearrestoringforces,assumingsimplemodelssuchaslinearspringsorlineardamping.However,ithasbeendiscoveredthatmooringsystemsexhibitnonlinearbehaviorduetofactorssuchashydrodynamicforces,materialcharacteristics,andboundaryconditions.
