Introduction:
Organicphosphoruspesticidesarecommonlyusedinagriculturetoprotectcropsfrompestsanddiseases.However,theirresiduesinvegetablescanposepotentialhealthriskstoconsumers.Therefore,accurateandreliablemethodsforthedeterminationoftheseresiduesinvegetablesareessentialtoensurefoodsafety.Gaschromatographywithflamephotometricdetection(GC-FPD)isapopulartechniquefortheanalysisoforganicphosphoruspesticidesduetoitssensitivityandselectivity.However,thepresenceofmatrixeffectsinvegetablesamplescanaffecttheaccuracyandprecisionoftheGC-FPDmethod.Therefore,thisstudyaimstoinvestigatethematrixeffectsofGC-FPDdeterminationofresidualorganicphosphoruspesticidesinvegetables.
Methods:
1.Samplecollectionandpreparation:Avarietyofvegetables(e.g.,lettuce,cabbage,carrots,etc.)werecollectedfromlocalmarkets.Thesampleswerecarefullywashed,peeledifnecessary,andhomogenizedusingablender.
2.Extractionandpurification:Thehomogenizedvegetablesamplesweresubjectedtoextractionwithanappropriatesolvent(e.g.,acetone,petroleumether)toextracttheorganicphosphoruspesticides.Theextractwasthenpurifiedusingsolidphaseextraction(SPE)orothersuitablepurificationtechniques.
3.GC-FPDanalysis:ThepurifiedextractwasinjectedintoaGC-FPDsystemequippedwithasuitablecolumnandconditionsfortheseparationanddetectionoforganicphosphoruspesticides.Calibrationcurveswerepreparedusingstandardsolutionsofthetargetpesticidestoquantifytheresiduesinthevegetablesamples.
4.Matrixeffectevaluation:Matrixeffectswereevaluatedbycomparingthecalibrationcurvesobtainedforthestandardsolutionswiththoseobtainedforthevegetablesamples.Theeffectsofdifferentmatrices(e.g.,lettuce,cabbage,carrots)ontheGC-FPDmethodwereassessed.
ResultsandDiscussion:
ThematrixeffectsofGC-FPDdeterminationofresidualorganicphosphoruspesticidesinvegetableswereinvestigatedforfivetargetpesticides.Thecalibrationcurvesobtainedforthestandardsolutionsshowedgoodlineari
